Iain Anders as Superintendent Jack McVitie
Chief Superintendent Jack McVitie was a major character in Taggart and the boss of DCI Jim Taggart. His frequent nickname was "The Biscuit" because he shared his name with a popular brand of biscuits, just as his predecessor Robert Murray was nicknamed The Mint after the well-known sweet.
